Hello again Lovely People 😊

I’m thrilled so many of you are coming to Goodnestone to celebrate my Seventieth! From Sydney to San Francisco, Septfonds to south London - it will be wonderful to have all my favourite people under one roof.

All will be soon be revealed but just so you can make plan, you are welcome to arrive anytime but events officially kick off at 4.30pm on Friday 8th with a wonderful tour of the garden from head gardener Paul. Widely regarded as one of the finest in southeast England, the and includes the walled gardens dating from 1760.

I’ll unveil the actual plans for the Friday evening and Saturday in a few weeks but there’s all sorts planned but everything is optional except for dinner on Saturday evening which will be catered. The organised activities end after lunch on Sunday but you’re welcome to stay overnight and leave on Monday 10th.

Re the catering, could I ask you to complete the form below with any dietary requirements you might have?

MUSIC LEGENDS is the fancy dress theme for Saturday evening. Plenty of scope here from Madonna to Adam Ant, a Spice girl to a Rolling Stone, Johnny Rotten to Beyoncé, etc, etc. Generic Sixties, Seventies and Eighties themes also allowed! No look too wild so let your imagination fly! (Make sure you are not outdone and outshone by my 99.5 year old mother!)

Speaking of music I’ve been having fun putting together a playlist for the entire weekend - so many great toons from the decades to include from the utterly cheesy to the le. Please add your faves to my playlist! See below.

Some of you have already been given Jobs (thanks for that ❤️ ) and I’ll let the rest of you know soon! I’ll also ask you to bring wine - I’ll let you know which colour nearer the time.

My 50th came and went without a knees-up, and so did my 60th, but this one’s not getting away from me! So. as a VIP in my life, I’d like to invite you to help me celebrate seven decades on this planet at my Big Birthday at Goodnestone Park in Kent in May.

I’ve taken over the whole House at Goodnestone and I’d love you to join me and stay as my guest.  I’m working on the plans as I write this, but there’ll defo be an an evening meal on Friday 8th, a dinner and party on Saturday 9th May (fancy dress, naturally), and a lunchtime roast on Sunday 10th. You’re welcome for all three days! *

I’m aiming for a relaxed house party kind of vibe so think games,  optional activities, music, walks and entertainment! If you want to peel off and do your own thing at any point there’s plenty to see in the area including Canterbury, Rye, Sissinghurst Castle Gardens and Deal.

There’s room at the House for most of us to stay, plus there’s other bookable accommodation locally. Scroll down to the form, and tick the dates you’d like to come and I’ll get to work on the room plans.

I don’t want any birthday presents, but that doesn’t mean you’re off the hook! I’d love some help behind the scenes at Goodnestone with the organisation, eg, making cocktails or washing up - I’ll make a list ahead of time (of course 😉). I’ll probably also ask you to bring a bottle of two of wine and maybe other ingredients as well.
