I’m absolutely thrilled so many of you are coming to Goodnestone to celebrate my Seventieth! 🥳🍾. It will be amazing to have so many of my favourite people under one roof.
Full details will soon be revealed but just so you can plan, you are welcome anytime from Wednesday 6th May but events officially kick off at 4pm on Friday 8th with a guided tour of the garden with Goodnestone’s charismatic head gardener, Paul. If you can’t get there for 4pm, join us whenever you can!
I’ll unveil the actual plans for the rest of Friday and Saturday in a few weeks but there’s all sorts planned - you can opt in or out of everything except for dinner on Saturday evening which will be catered. The organised activities end after lunch on Sunday but you’re welcome to stay overnight and leave on Monday 10th if that suits you.
🎶 MUSIC ICONS 🎶 from the past 70 years is the fancy dress theme for Saturday evening! From Madonna to Michael Jackson, Boy George to Beyoncé, Abba to Adam Ant, etc - there’s plenty of choice 😀. Generic looks from Pop to Punk, Classic to Country, Rock to Reggae, Hip Hop to Heavy Metal are also allowed! No look too crazy so let your imagination fly!
Speaking of music, I’m compiling a series of playlists for the weekend starting with the first single I ever bought at the age of 12 (“Fire” by one-hit wonder Arthur Brown, 1968) to the present day and I’d love to have your input. Let me know which have been your favourite bangers over the decades and I’ll add them to the playlists.
Re the catering, could I ask you to complete the form below with any dietary requirements you might have?
Some of you already have your Jobs (thanks for that 🙏 ❤️ ) and I’ll let the rest of you know soon! I’ll also ask you to bring wine - I’ll let you know which colour nearer the time.
