Paper Flower Making with Tiffanie Turner
14-22 September 2026
Join US artist Tiffanie Turner on her return to beautiful Goodnestone Park in Kent for her third year of paper flower making retreats in the UK with the Textile Retreat Company. We’d love you to join us at Goodnestone for a week of creativity, interesting excursions, delicious food and luxurious accommodation in a historic stately home.
The theme for the week is Summer Blooms and across eight studio sessions, Tiffanie will guide you through the creation of all of the elements to make a beautiful peony plucked right from the solstice gardens at Goodnestone, and a glowing and technically impressive variation of her zinnia, which can be adapted to create the infinite forms that zinnias can take. You will spend the week learning to make the parts of each flower yourself to capture their natural beauty, and become skilled at handling crepe paper in many different ways.
Additionally, there will be two optional sessions where you can learn to create a dying peony in the style which Tiffanie is known for, and a special evening studio session where you can work independently, or find some one-on-one time with Tiffanie. This session is for students at all levels of paper flower making, from novice to experienced, and this is the first time Tiffanie will have shared instruction of these particular flowers with anyone.
As a self-taught paper flower artist and author of the book The Fine Art of Paper Flowers, Tiffanie has developed many innovative ways to work with crepe paper, from special paper staining methods to realistic looking flower centers, and she is eager to share them all with you. You’ll also create leaves, stems, and other details for added realism. You’ll leave at the end of the retreat with completed flowers and the confidence and skills to recreate your own natural looking specimens at home. This particular retreat has been designed to help you enjoy all of the processes involved in paper flower making from the ground up, with a few slower mornings where you can enjoy the Goodnestone Estate, and an extra day away from the studio for those who do not opt for the third flower instruction.
Your accommodation for the week is at Goodnestone Park, the former home of Jane Austen’s brother Edward. This beautiful house dating from 1704 is surrounded by Goodnestone Park’s exceptionally beautiful 15-acre gardens which are known for their ancient woodland, parterre gardens and classical English planting. Described as one of the top three gardens in Kent, we will have access to the gardens during our stay including the Serpentine Walk, a favourite of Jane Austen.
The retreat will include a number of excursions including to the world-famous botanical gardens at Kew the picturesque port town of Rye and the famous gardens created by Christopher Lloyd at Great Dixter. On our last day we visit 15th century Knole, one of England’s most historically significant country houses nicknamed the Calendar House due to its 365 rooms, 52 staircases, 12 entrances and 7 courtyards.
Please note: Your completed flowers will be boxed for you to take home in the airplane overhead carry-on bin, so please plan your luggage and travel needs accordingly if you are traveling by air.ta Sackville-West.

“The time and preparation Tiffanie put in to the retreat was truly impressive. I felt like I was in a novel, wandering around the gardens, along the paths, and waking up to gorgeous sunrises with dew on the grounds beyond. Rooms were large and very comfy”
